The real world has the same issue. When you have a shit ton of money and power, the incentive to keep chasing the high of winning fades into a dark place. You can have every woman you want, the best food or drugs with a phone call, and the best of any good you can imagine is at your fingertips. What do you do then? You start chasing the things you can't have. Murder, cannibalism, rape, pedo, stealing, etc. Anything that is taboo becomes the only thing left for them that pumps dopamine in the same way as making your first million.
