تَكْبِير

Takbir (tak-beer):

Magnification of God.

Prayed as:

اللّٰهُ أَكْبَر

Allahu akbar

Meaning:

God is the greatest.

نَشِيد

Nasheed:

Islamic poetry.

Recited with melody.

جِهَاد

Jihad (jee-hahd):

Struggle.

The holy struggle of all Muslims.

The inner spiritual struggle to avoid sin and obey God.

The outer physical struggle of war against the enemies of God.

مُجَاهِدِين

Mujahideen (moo-jah-hee-deen):

The strugglers, the doers of Jihad.

الشَّهَادَةُ

Shahada (shah-hah-dah):

The Islamic declaration of faith.

Reciting the Shahada makes you a Muslim.

The clashing/rattling of the sharp swords, the anthem of the proud/brave/defiant
And fighting is the way/path of life
Amidst the clash/attack, the tyrants are annihilated/whitened out
And a beautiful silencer/muffler resonates

By the honor of my religion and the humiliation of the oppressors,
O my people, arise for the path of struggle!
Either a life in which guidance flows,
Or a death that enrages the enemies!

So rise, my brother, on the path of salvation,
Together united, we repel the invaders.
We raise glory and lift our foreheads high,
Refusing to be humiliated except by God alone.

To the truth, He calls us,
To the battlefield of death for a war of enmity.
Whoever among us dies defending the land,
Will be rewarded with eternal gardens, restoring his honor.

صليل الصوارم نشيد الأباه
وضرب القتال طريق الحياة
فبين إقطیاح يبیض الطغاة
وكاتم صوتی جمیلی صداه

بـِعز دینی ودل البغاة
فیا قومی هبوا لطریق الكفاح
فإما حیاه تسری الهدى
وإما ممات یغیظ الأعداء

فا قم یا أخي لطریق النجاة
لضمّ سويًا نصدو الغزاة
ونرفع مجدًا ونُعلي جباه
آبت أن تذل إلا لغير الإله

إلى الحق هلّا دعانا
للساح المنايا لحرب عداها
فمن مات منا فی دفع الحمى
بجنات خلد سویعوض عزاها

Ṣalīl' aṣ-ṣawarīm našīdu al-ʻabāh
Wa-darba al-qitāli ṭarīqu al-ḥayāh
Fa-bayn āqtiḥāmi yubīd aṭ-ṭuġāh
Wa-kātīmu ṣawti jamīli ṣadāh

Bih ʻazz dīnī wa-dall al-buġāh
Fa-yā qawmī hubbuwā li-darbi al-kumāh
Fa-'imā ḥayāt'un tasuru al-hudỳ
Wa-'ima mamāt'un yuġīṭ al-ʻadāh

Fa-qum yā akhaỳ li-darbi an-najāh
Li-damṣỳ sawyāan naṣudu al-ġuzāh
Wa-narfaʼ majda wa-nuʼlỳ jibāh

Ābat 'an taḏ'inla li-ġaīri Al-'Ilāhi

Ilaỳ al-ḥaqq hayā daʼānā li-wāh
Li-s-sāḥ al-manāyā li-ḥarbi ʻaydāh
Fa-man māta minnā fidā' ʻan ḥimāh
Bi-janāt khuldi'un sayaġdwā' ʻazāh
