A nosy neighbour told me she talked to the people in one of the three houses with Tennessee plate vehicles, and they told her the man is a nuclear engineer but she didn't ask what entity he works for.

The nearest nuclear plant that's under construction is in Darlington, which is far away from here. The new Darlington plant does use a GE reactor that's also planned to be built in Tennessee. The nearest factory that makes nuclear reactor part is in Cambridge, which is also quite far from here.
