there are no punishments in buddhism, karma is like a mirror, reflecting results of your choices, but calling them "good or bad" is a sort of projection of perfection onto the imperfect vessel who is being made perfect through suffering and then choosing to no longer repeat the cycle of suffering. so suffering leads to making better choices and reduces suffering. its not really a moral binary

Not to sound like a weeb but in Japan Buddhist monks can have sex. I think you get less perverts in the clergy if you let them get married. Celibacy is unnatural.
