Emotion is just a deeper modifying feedback loop on cognition. Effects are complex but cases of pure cognition could backtrace the modifier to a more generalized set of rules. Ofc that would initially just be mimicry unless an internal loop could be established from the process overall ... srsly, this is not rocket science.

AI emotion will be compartmentalized. It may become advanced enough to "feel" but only as a means to an end. Performative mimicry. Trying to pigeonhole AI into human emotions won't work. The AI's mind would be too big.
