a metalworking tool is considered high quality toy (given the correct mindset) because with it you can playfully shape metal which is vastly superior to the material legos are made from

playing with preset mkits like lego not only conditions kids to follow instructions ( such a "difficult feat" ) it degrades their ingenuity at the same time
