i remember a sort of memoryholed scandal when some reddit mods committed mutiny and went to take over discord or found it or whatever
the state of reddit it was back then made it clear that discord was pozzed from the start
also during that time it was revealed that they record voices create user profiles of everything that is going on there
literally luxurious honeypot jus tlike twitch and all the other astroturfed new social media things
all of a sudden gamers would use discord instead of teamspeak etc
sometime later non gaming redditors got shilled into using discord too
