>The Boomers were buying homes in the 1950s on a single income!

How brainrotted are you fucking people?

#1. The OLDEST Boomer in 1955 would've been 10 years old and half of the Boomer generation wasn't even born yet.

#2. The average home in the 1950s was 980sqft with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. No dishwasher, no air-conditioning, primitive washers and dryers and a single TV with 3 channels in black & white.

The average home size in 2024 was 2,350 sqft with 3.5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. With all the modern homemaking amenities you can think of and a 4k TV in every room with 500 channels.

>WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! I CAN'T AFFORD A MODERN HOME LIKE GRANDPAPPY COULD!!!!
You can if you downgrade to a 980sqft house with no amenities. But no, you don't want that. You want to be able to afford a $320k modern home in the suburbs, with a new Toyota Camry parked in the driveway, 15 minutes from downtown, while working an Amazon Warehouse job. A job a 14 year old could perform.

Congratulations man! From what I've heard (I've never done the research), buying a home in Europe is even worse than the USA.

I would just assume you travel for work, or you like renting. Plenty of rich people just rent and never buy.

Boomers were buying homes in the late 70s, early 80s @ 8-12% interest and struggling to pay bills. Everyone I knew had two working parents and we all lived in small houses with 5 people. They upgraded their homes in the 90s when they were in their forties, having already been working 20+ years. 27 year old single niggas are whining about not being able to afford their parents house on one income, no kids, having only been working for 3-4 years cuz they took 6 years to get their sissy lib arts degree in sociology. Dude, every month was money struggles in my house and every working class house in the 80s. These niggas don't know. I didn't buy my first house until I was married with three kids at 33. Having worked full-time for ten years.

Actually I want to be given a flat in a pretty red bricked building by the river in a lush green commieblock for free, so I can start my own small business in a local people-owned "shopping mall" like my parents did under market socialism. I also want free healthcare, education and for my country to be free of immigrants like it used to be. Your "capitalism" sucks ass and I want to return to socialism
