Honestly the entire H1B1 program needs to be scrapped. Why should national immigration policy be dictated by these large corporations that can't even be bothered to pay taxes, or pay their labor enough not to be dependent on government social services. The entire point of the program is to prevent a tight labor market. When they talk about labor shortages they are only talking about cheap labor. People won't take jobs that don't pay them a fair wage. That's why they drag in the 3rd world labor that will live in literal tents for a chance at citizenship.

I've been in tech for 20 years and devs educated in India are some of the worst you'll find. Even the ones educated in the US often are terrible. They spend a bunch of time spinning their wheels and churning out code but it's often poorly done and overcomplicated.

Project Managers don't get that though they just see "Oh Ranjeet closed 6 tickets today, he's so productive." Then they get credit again for closing 6 of the 12 bug tickets that their previous tickets created.

Good execs and PMs kind of know this in their hearts but the real reason they love them is because they hold their immigration status in their hands and thus can do whatever they want to them. Us Americans will only tolerate so much, but people who need a job for their visa will lick boot forever.
