I unironically believe this too. But I also believe you get the choice: serve or be deported. I also believe you don't get a vote unless you both own land and are married. You should get to use the votes of your children until they move out.

An advanced society (not us, of course lmao) would "require" a six to eight year long period of civic and military service for every able bodied person starting with the age of 18.
Those six years would be a rotation of different fields or work and would also act as an educational program by learning different trades and traits from carpeting, electrical work all the way to how to care for the elderly.
At the end of it, of course, there is a reward. Which would, (again) of course, be ones enrollment into lifelong basic income.
