So I guess because of the lockdowns and Zoomers are just failing at socialization and actually being a member of society, so sometimes when you just even ask them a basic question their eyes just glaze over and it's like they freeze and are unable to even formulate a response. So they just stare blankly at you with a dumb look on their face. This has been a thing now for at least 4 years.

The social media has literally rotted their brains. People don't speak to each other now, they don't have conversations, they just speak next to each other and assume the other person is listening to them.

The number of times I have to forcibly, like, verbally shake someone to get them to even listen to a question I'm asking is increasing by the day and it's not just zoomers. Boomers are just as bad because they got just as addicted to social media. Millennials are probably the least demented but it's still a majority of them that act like this.

All you have to do is watch how often people will just be talking to each other and seeming like they're having two different conversations at once with the other person just saying "yup, uhuh" and then saying some completely unrelated non-sequitar in response.

It also has a lot to do with illiteracy which is getting so bad that I'm pretty sure even people who could once read are losing the ability. The less people read the more retarded they get and less capable of holding a conversation. We're at the point where simply asking someone to discuss a thought with you, even if it's something blatantly beneficial to both parties, they will recoil in fear at the very thought of having to.....think.

I work with one. It's the school system. Our education is failing these kids hard and parents are too busy to socialize them properly. I had to show a college age person how to set up a spred sheet in excel and even just do simple formatting on individual cells. They didn't even understand how to set up a chart to organize the information someone had asked them to. It's like there is no latent intuition because they haven't been shown enough things.
