stephen king is a hack retard but "IT" is actually pretty damn good and THAT scene isnt even too outrageous after you've spent 900 pages getting to know the characters as kids and adults. it's uncomfortable yes, but the book is largely about kids dealing with stuff they shouldn't have to deal with, and that part of the ending (going into the sewers as kids and facing their greatest fears) symbolizes their transition into adulthood as they defeat the terrors that have plagued their childhoods, so it thematically fits. that all being said, i read it when i was like 14 and told my buddy at school the next day that it (partially) ended with an underground, underage, interracial gangbang and he had the same reaction as everyone here had kek. anyway, fuck stephen king but i do recommend IT. also "the stand", "eyes of the dragon" and "different seasons". the first four dark tower books are good too but they drop off a cliff in book 5 so don't even bother.

I recommend Salem's Lot and The Shining. They were his first few books so he still had to comply with publishing companies demands to edit down his books. Once he got rich and famous he had no limitations imposed so he started writing enormous novels with too much unnecessary bullshit.

stephen king is a piece of shit but ill defend the "child" sewer gangbang scene because i read the book and actually got "it"

"it" is sex in the eyes of children, doing "it" none of them yet know what "it" is (Sex) but they hear the adults vaguely talking about it in hushed tones, it becomes whatever they fear most because again they dont know what "it" is, when they have the group gangbang in the sewer they have come of age, that is the mark of an adult being able to fuck, and fucking. the final battle has the good entity a giant turtle against a vaginal spider monster its a coming of age story about coming to terms with sex and learning what "it" actaully is (sex)

its not supposed to its a horror movie but thats kind of the point, there is equal parts disgust and innocence, they are doing it for ritual purposes and dont understand the gravity of what they are doing, the entire book is tackling the grimier aspects of coming of age the foolish sexual mistakes young teens and preteens often make when coming of age is literally "it"

I’ve read all of his books, and I own all of them too, including the Richard Bachman books. Yes, I also have a hard copy of Rage too. I am very aware that in the context of the book the scene does make sense and isn’t written as some sort of child erotica. However, I think I saw or read an interview where the man himself said he wouldn’t write it the same way again, if he were to go back. I do get it though, and controversially I don’t think he is a pedo for it.

It was more than just sex, It was whatever they were afraid of. It just so happens that for a group of pubescent boys, lost in the dark, they all had the same fear. It also was meant in some way for Beverly to reclaim her sexuality after being diddled by her father. Keep in mind, that’s a very liberal, boomer way of thinking about sexuality, but King is a super liberal boomer.

its everything they are afraid of because they dont know what IT is, IT is literally a euphamism for sex, doing IT, its a way to say it without saying it if you say doint IT in front of a child because he is innocent he has no idea what IT means so he fills in the blanks, "beverlys dad is doing SOMETHING bad to her but we dont know what IT is being children, i think hes a werewolf" do you understand? it is about beverely reclaiming her sexuality its about ALL of them claiming their sexuality as well sex is the marker of adulthood they all fuck right before they overcome IT as children because their childlike understanding of "IT" has passed away "IT" has become sex its lost its mystery, it is a coming of age story objectively even if this is lost on you and its no coincidence the story is broken up into two parts childhood and adulthood sex is the gate between those two worlds

i dont like the man but i think he wrote a good book with it and the sewer sex scene is sort of the entire point, if it had not been so bizarre and so blunt and "SEEMINGLY" out of nowhere the theme of the book would not have clicked at least for me, we mostly agree and honestly i have enjoyed this conversation more than 99 percent of the arguments ive had on /pol/ jsyk you want to do it in a sewer with me anon? maybe come of age?

I’m more of a Cujo person myself, anon. No point banging on in a sewer for us. I think he gets an odd amount of attention on here given who he is. Also I think I have the rare ability in modern times to separate someone’s creative works from the person themself. He has written many iconic stories over the years, and people who deny it are just seething fags. The Body (Stand By Me), and The Shawshank Redemption are both excellent stories and movies. The man was talented. His newer works? Not so much.
I did like 11/22/63, but that was likely because his son wrote the ending.

They’re two entirely different genres of horror, and at complete different times. Kings influence on horror was so profound at the time that it is commonplace now. Prior to him horror was always distant or far away, like Dracula in his castle, or Frankenstein. He was quite literally the first to write a successful, mainstream horror book that asked something as simple as “what if vampires made their way to small town America?”

absolutely and i think a part of this story that people who havent read king miss is that he was sort of famous for tackling the grimier sexual quirks people have in private, the junkyard owner jerking off in a mirror wearing womens clothes for instance in salems lot, a book about fucking vampitres, i think for once he just wanted it to be warranted not just a side plot in the story to add nasty grit to the world he was crafting so he made it thematically the focus of it. that book is one of the most well crafted ive ever read for how it subtley gradually reveals its theme with that sewer scene, i give him all the credit in the world for pulling that off

I also liked The Shining for similar thematic reasons. People see the movie and think it’s a story about a haunted hotel. It’s actually a story about the affect uncontrolled alcoholism can have on a man and his family. People assume he is just a horror author, when he isn’t.
I also like how he ties in real world events to some of his stories. You know that eclipse that happened last year? The last time a similar one happened was one of the main climax points of Dolores Claiborne.

i should really read the shining, i read stephen king mostly as a young man in my early twenties and in my teens, then in my mid twenties i read i think about 4 books into the dark tower series possibly three because at the time i could not find the pdfs of the others online for free (i am having no monies) but hes under rated as an author when hes ON but hes often OFF especially now so that sullies his image quite a bit. but i will say another anon mentioned lovecraft i say this as a fan of lovecraft, lovecraft never wrote anything that approaches it, his main contribution to literature was introducing and greatly fleshing out cosmic horror but the short stories themselves dont really hold a candle to what king accomplished in it, that being said i would let lovecraft watch my kids and be glad to do so, king not so much

George Takei was in the same boat as this guy and offed himself instead of thanking Trump. Guess Takei spent his fortune on underage gay prostitutes and couldn't afford the extortion fees Trump demanded.

I think the alcoholism was just a conduit the hotel used to gain leverage over Jack. King loves stories about demonic entities toying with people's insecurities and secrets.

Probably because he has more than a few himself.

IT is in the context of the story an alien threat that arived on earth during dinosaur times, but thematically IT is sex

same thing with the hotel being a conduit for psychic energy you are correct but thematically that anon is right it represents jacks alcoholism and the toll its taken on his sanity and his family

>recommend IT. also "the stand", "eyes of the dragon" and "different seasons". the first four dark tower books are good too but they drop off a cliff in book 5 so don't even bother.
This, though I'd also add that Salem's Lot is excellent.

>I hope one day /pol/ will read my books.
It's grim, but the truth is that unless you are a kike yourself or are okay with sucking kike dick, you are never going to get published.
Please never stop writing, because it is a very good way to release things from your soul, but just know that it will probably never make it into the wild because the kikes hold a tight grip on the social narrative. It is an extension of the regular media, you see, and they are on it just like a bloated tick, and injecting poisons all the while.
fr
The kikes control the whole deal, just like the music industry, and that is just that.

I’m not looking for international success. I’m writing books for my bros on here to read. Everyone on here is always complaining that nothing is tailored to their in terms of media, well this is. If I sell 50 copies, good enough. If I sell zero, that’s just the way she goes.

If you can make money off it, I truly wish you all the best, but I only wish for bound books, even chink-bound books that are probably poisonous.
Okay, maybe not that last bit. I grew up with old books, though, and they were pretty great.
Mark Twain is my all-time favourite and spirit guide, along with Mr. Heinlein.
