I have a classic first name that every native English speaker in the world knows how to pronounce correctly. Like William or James.

Whenever my name has been called to pick up an order at a food place, 95% of the time if it’s a spic (and it often is) they butcher the pronunciation. 5% of the time they get it right and I can tell it’s because they were born here.

Went from elementary school where the teacher would fumble over the names of the 1 or 2 brown kids to 25 years later most of the people working behind the counter food establishments can’t say my name correctly
