If America is such an exceptional country why does everyone I know on the mainland hate their life and just scrape by barely under intense psychological pressure and threat from capitalists and/or government bureaucrats? Has it fully transformed into a land of wage slavery, or are some of you out there actually experiencing the so-called American Dream?

I'm set to buy a house in about six years (at age 36) if neither my income nor housing prices increase. Having a wife/gf who lived with me and shared expenses would make that happen a lot faster, but finding a woman who I wouldn't be a complete retard to marry has been a struggle and it's probably not going to get any better as I get older.
