From a health perspective sugar is less bad for you then HFCS. Sugar is 50% fructose while HFCS is anywhere from 55%-95% fructose. Fructose is basically as bad for your health as alcohol, except unlike alcohol there is no real limiter to its consumption.
Fructose is ideally consumed with lots of fiber like is naturally occurring in fruit which slows down digestion and allows for your body to use this form of energy in your muscles before it gets to and in processed by your liver.
