You have 3 years give or take until quantum computing completely destroys the internet and everything you know
>HTTPS, SSH, and basically the entire internet would cease to be secure
>Global financial collapse as encrypted banking transactions and digital currencies are instantly compromised
>Crypto instantly worthless as all wallets can instantly be cracked
>Government and military secrets would be exposed
>Years of stored, encrypted data would result in billions of emails, texts, could all suddenly be decrypted

D-Day is coming. You are not ready. The world is not ready.

they still haven't been able to develop a superconductor that can work at room temp. quantum computing won't be mainstream until that happens.

People will drop the convenience of online interations because there is 1 functional quantum computer in the world?
Yeah I don't think so. That's like saying people will not locking the doors to their house because someone owns a skeleton key.

Quantum computers literally donm't even exist - maybe ever.

It's not going to play out the way you think it is.

Man in the middle attacks require you to physically splice into wiring. HTTPS being broken will have almost zero effect on anything.

Room temperature superconductors are a normie psy-op. High temperature superconductors are typically some form of ceramic and as you might guess, you can't make wires out of bricks. The only useful superconductors are the type I, made of metals which all have critical temperatures of single digit kelvins. The use cases such as MRI, NRM, particle accelerators all use type I and the only uses for type II are toys and experiments.

Nobody fucking cares. Fuck computers. Fuck the internet, fuck niggers and kikes. If technology fails all that means to me is I can go kill niggers and jews without having to worry about some faggots doorbell camera capturing my escape. Quantum anything is gay as fuck we never should have abandoned the type writer. I don’t want to live in space I just want to eradicate the garbage on earth, that’s good enough for me. Stop trying to leave the planet and start thinking about how to preserve it. And preservation starts with mass genocide

>Man in the middle attacks require you to physically splice into wiring
whoever controls just one of the IP routers you cannot avoid - like the ones at your Internet provider - can interpose himself. this is useless against HTTPS as of now, but quantum computers might make it worth doing. there are but two snags: quantum computers are at the brink of a major breakthrough since about 1990, and a powerful enough quantum computer must be cheap enough to use it to spy specifically on you. so I don't worry about this the same way I don't worry about B2 bombers; sure, they could flatten my house, but even discussing the operation would cost more in expert fees than whatever returns could reasonably be expected from the action.

I'm far from an expert, but quantum computers exploit randomness and I do not think we can achieve this randomness
For true randomness we require a Planck scale computer, unit, in order to exploit it - 't Hoofd
But that not being possible, we require to exploit bigger particles, but those will not be as random as we please

I guess what 't Hoofd suggests is that we will be using a random generator just like in DOOM
It's far from random, as a matter of fact, all random generators are not random, and we will get a specific pseudo random input all the time
Which is far from the true random input we need to achieve this form of decryption

Say we have several Qbits and we take one of them to be the referencing point.
Will all the other Qbits be really different? Really random in comparison with this reference Qbit?
Let alone that this sole Qbit will behave randomly

So I don't believe such catastrophe is nearby, it's science fiction
