In anime world, teenagers are shown as having the capacity to sign binding contracts, meaning the age of majority is lower. Europeans have been marrying in their 20's since the 1700s, and with a decent portion never marrying.
Only nobility got away with marrying 13yo to 30yo, and their excuse was that it was for political reasons / tie lineages together.
