ok so how and hwy did it ACTUALLY failed? because if I look at the historical records, if I look at how many people they had infiltrating the USA, Italy and pretty much every other part of the world, if I look at how China is seemingly thriving and doing virtually the same subversive shit (at least for now), with their population pretty much subvservient, how and WHY this state managed to fail? I'm not tlaking about Communism as a whole, just about the Soviet Union. it feels like they had it in the bucket had they managed to wait a couple more decades.

Back then most countries of the world were poor aside from the West. USSR could only do major trade with other communist countries. There was no one willing to cooperate with them on modern technology. China got technology transferred to them for free as they were not viewed as a threat until Xi Jinping.

that's it? impossibility to do trade deals? I'd guess the soviets would ahve more than enough tech transfer throug their infiltraors and sympathizers and could wait 20/30 more years or so.

It failed because the last party heads and leaders wanted to give up.
They didn't have to willingly and peacefully dissolve the ussr, but they did.

A group of liberal politicians saw how the West was doing better economically and thought that this would fix everyone's problems. It did not. Even now I believe that they should've just ran over whatever protests there were in the Eastern Block with T-72's and call it a day. The economic collapse and hundreds of thousands of not millions of deaths to poverty, violence, and war was not worth it. The economic issues were all temporary would eventually like always be solved.

This desu it didn't just fuck them up, it caused 10s of millions of immigrants to flee to the West where they became devalued truck drivers and plumbers which also contributed to the economic slowdowns of the West.
