It could have been worse without him maybe, potentially. He isn't as bad as /pol/ makes him out to be but certainly not a great man. Aside from making peace with the Germans in 1940 and admit defeat, the /pol/ solution, but unacceptable for the British Empire at the time, he can be said to have led the political aspect of the war well. But Britain was humiliated and weakened in victory in 1945 just like it would have been humiliated and weakened in defeat in 1940.
