They claimed it was because the host wanted to pursue standup and not because the show was a flop. The logic doesn't make sense because you'd think they'd just replace the host? Well, I guess it does make sense now, because they're planning on shitcanning all of late-night.

I expect they'll probably sell off the Ed Sullivan Theater because they have no reason to own it now. Late Night was the only thing there, so all of the expenses of maintenance and property taxes were on that show's dime.
