I think drones are going to become a lot easier to counter within the next 5-10 years, and we're just in a transitionary period where the requisite defensive technology has not yet caught up with the recent advances in offensive technology. A mortar shell strapped to an Alibaba quadcopter is conceptually fairly easy to defeat using any manner of things you could dream up in 30 seconds that are entirely within our technological ability to produce en masse, but we just haven't developed the industrial pipelines for them yet

heavy emphasis on urban warfare and on countering drones as fighting out in the open becomes less viable. mechanized units with heavier protective equipment, especially against shrapnel and fire. "not getting hit in the first place" doesn't really work in a city or even a suburb.
their vehicles will carry smaller guns and more armor both rigid and active, particularly on top to counter drones and cunts in windows. they will likely act more as a hub for their units rather than as an actual fighting vehicle, providing comms and power.
fighting outside of cities will rely heavily on mobility and speed so will be less common, but significantly more important than it is now.
