Under EU Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, the rules are:
Ingredients must be listed in descending order by weight.
Allergen information must be explicitly listed, even if it’s part of a generic ingredient like “spices.”
Additives (e.g. preservatives, sweeteners) must be named and/or labeled with an E-number.
The use of catch-all terms like “spices,” “herbs,” “flavorings,” or “aromas” is allowed, but:
They must comply with definitions (e.g. "natural flavoring substances" vs. "artificial").
If a particular spice or herb is used in significant quantities or associated with the product name, it may need to be specified.
