Doubt it. Most of the tech companies I have worked for wouldn't hire PhDs for engineering positions. Salary expectations were too high and most design work has no need for that type of academic experience. Even the R&D teams had more non-PhDs, but you would have a couple of them there. Mixed bag - some were really good guys, but others, the ones that wanted to go by "Dr.," were mostly pretentious fucks.
