The F-16 is an antique, and giving it to Ukraine was little more than a symbolic gesture. Now, even Russian fighter jets are afraid of getting caught by SAM and are unable to fly freely.
I understand the desire to criticize, but the F-16 was an good fighter jet built by the last capable engineers of the US with a decent short takeoff distance.
While one could argue that it is far more robust, Russian fighter jets are not suddenly invincible against runway debris either.
