Trump wants to kill Canada's auto industry. On top of that, Canada's military is woefully underfunded and we're supposed to get up to 5% of GDP in a decade. I propose we make our homegrown trucks that launch drones and kill two birds with one stone. The workers that got laid off from the auto industry would work on the manufacture of something like picrel which is very successfully used by Russia in Ukraine. Of course it won't be a Ram and a Shahed drone but something homegrown for both the truck and drone.

Okay, it's funny you say that, anon.
I was going to start a business manufacturing armored trucks for the civil war AND for driving in urban shitholes like Torcongo and Vancouvistan.
You are probably joking, but I'm looking for partners, unironically.

Why don't we just build settlements for humans and use these asshole's already existing military transport vehicles, which are now currently being used only for shuttling little Jaylan to and from soccer practice?

I can already walk to work, so I won't be affected. The rest of you can ride the bus.

Yeah, probably the way to go with how besides the mostly southern urban centres. Canada is very large chunks of empty forest surrounded by ocean.

No. Partners.
Like, a buddy to do this with.
I'm getting ready to pitch a few things to the gubbermint for grant cash, but I feel stupid doing it alone. Also, there are a few areas where I lack the manpower, and a partner would be great.

Did I miss a canadian revolution or something?
Last I checked your government was trying to sterilize and replace the population.
>I feel stupid doing it alone.
I would say build it and they will come.
If you can raise the capital for a first run we could undercut with brutal margins to guarantee a contract but I think the focus should be the private market because with some properly designed modular technicals we could turn your citizen militia into a guerrilla army for less than the cost of an f35.

Real question however is China because their economic warfare against the americans could make this real cheap to pull off but it would open up the spin vector of a "secret" ccp proxy army.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel%E2%80%93electric_powertrain

This bad boy needs to be a driving generator for small unit fobs and diesel electic can eek out some efficiency but more importantly cut most of the production cost entirely.
We could build these for easily half the cost of an ev or an ice without considerably less factory requirements.

I find that reassuring to hear actually. Since I just read the headline, I thought we were aligning with Europe which is a BAD MOVE. Your idiot leaders are trying to get nuked by Russia. Good luck with that. I do not want Canada to be involved in any way.

Best thing about it yet is the canadian gov already waived the loophole through with the diesel electric logging truck startup.
We can also emp proof them for cheap to a reasonable extent.
We dont need axles, can have a flexible drivetrain and make it modular enough to combine into a multi chassis train to pull heavy artillery and aerial denial.

Yeah we are still under occupation and they want to get us all killed but there are more important things in life and we can worry about dying when we done.

We have to keep the world going - even if people don't want us to because someone has to be the adult
The worst thing I can think of is not being of use to anyone else
Don't be jealous - I kind of fucked up.
I had the magazines in deep storage and they started to rust
My penance was to restore them
Into the bead blaster - soft beaded the old finish and rust off. Clean tank, soap tank, blue tank, hot water tank.
Scrub them down again to neutralize any salts left.
Into the oven at 200F/95C for an hour to drive off any residual water
WD40 and wipe down just in case
Then rub down in Break Free/CLP
They go to this.
Stock photo because fuck putting my own shit out there...

Or we just scale down our automotive production, and put more work towards being full self-sufficient in building them start to finish, rather than relying on a neighbour.

Also we're too poor to blow 5% of our GDP into military spendings, especially with how mismanaged our country has been in the last decade.

Oh no you dont understand.
That 5% is going to "nato" and the americans will spend it how they see fit.
You still have to pay for your military spending and none of that is coming out of the nato "budget".
