It seems like most people in the USA realize now that we're not getting what we voted for.
The "Democracy" element of our republic seem like a farce. Especially because they ignore the will of the people and the majority's desires are ignored by the ruling politicians whom they elected.
This is happening in many "1st world" countries too, such as the UK, Italy, Germany (that one politician admitted that he just lied about immigration to get elected) etc.
I can see what the conversation is changing, because people are starting to identify that the current system looks like it functionally will not solve the problems they view most dangerous to our society. And if people see it that way, of course they'll welcome a completely new system.
Both political parties have committees that choose who gets to become a Dem or Repub candidate, and it looks like all those committees are captured.
Broken system.
