>>510993665 (OP)i take my son to a pokemon trade night in our town, theres always a big turn out, like 50 people there, some people holding collections worth several thousand dollars. and theres a few children there.. but most of the people are 20-50.
and when they release cards or put them on the shelves, like at Target. it'll be at like 7AM in the morning on a school day, so theres no way a kid or their parents are going to be there waiting in lines. its always these stinky, gross degenerates there. fucking anime weirdos with terrible haircuts and fashion. and it bothers me because once again i got a kid, and i know of the other kids at his school who trade and sell.. and they're the ones suffering for this sort of greed. they can't even casually get a pack of cards at the store when out with their parents or something. they gotta hope their parents are willing to pay extra to order it from some scumfuck online.
and buying comics for the last 7 years, consistently each week, ive come to see how stupid people's greed can be. Battle Beast #1 is a good example, its a book that recently came out that is written by the guy who created Invincible. its a character from that book/show. and it was very hyped and they had a gimmicky way of marketing the first issue with mystery bags where you're not sure what cover you're going to get.. much like opening a pack of cards. and people were out there buying hundreds of copies. imagine doing that.. 100 copies of the same story and book, the only difference is you MIGHT get a different or rare cover.. and so the market values spike high on those rare covers.. but then they drop and it all falls out in a couple weeks when people stop caring about the book.
its on issue #3 now and needless to say, i dont think these assholes are still buying 100 copies of each issue. stupid fucks.
im a simple collector. ive never resold any collectibles because im not a (((merchant))) and i hold sentimental value higher than material.
