The Government, acting as though Maxwell was a proxy for Epstein, breached its own agreement, charged her with time-barred offenses, revived decades-old allegations, and worked with plaintiffs’ attorneys whose interests were largely financial. These actions were designed to pin blame for Epstein’s crimes and the Government’s failures on Maxwell, rather than upholding the foundational legal principle that the Government must scrupulously adhere to its commitments.

I won't say Ghislaine did nothing wrong, but she did nothing to deserve this, and she has been memed into a villain far out of proportion to her actual alleged offenses.
