the reason I primarily stick to the KJV is because it is a word for word translation, and because modern translations MUST differ from established books by like 20% over their entire word count or they cannot be published as a separate copyright. You can lose a lot in those details when you're forced to choose different words to have your translation be different enough from existing ones to publish and sell.

So I always go with KJV, and if I struggle to understand the earlier form of English, I will use ESV and NASB to cross reference to see if it makes more sense in a way that all 3 translations agree.
