No. I don't buy team shit that is massively overpriced. I don't "cheer" for some team to win because they represent the local city etc (most of the players arent even from that area) and I most likely never enjoyed the sport itself because sports are exercise and I don't exercise by throwing a fucking ball around. I actually work out, run, lift etc.

The only "sport" worth watching is MMA or related fighting. Because I actually fought and taught before. 99.9% of sports watchers NEVER played. They are NPC golem consumers, worthless and can't even be conversed with.

I have a good time tailgating at games for my Alma Mater. The games themselves used to be fun but have become less so as I’ve gotten older. It’s mostly being packed in like sardines with screaming morons that I can’t stand. But the day drinking, the music, the ceremony of it all is pretty fun.

I started watching sports with my brother-in-law when the OU sooners won the College Football National Championship in 2000. It was the first sports game I ever really cared to watch.

It was especially interesting to me because some of the guys on the team went to high school with me at Moore High School/Highland East. I even had them in my classes. And Moore High School won the "Moore War" football game every year with West Moore during that period.

Anyway, my brother-in-law was a massive sports fan and basically spent most of his time not working watching sports. Didn't matter the time of year, there was always some kind of sport to watch, even if it was soccer or women's volleyball.

I started watching OU(Oklahoma University) football with him every season. Then started watching other Big 12 teams(the old Big 12), just to see how the other teams OU would be facing were doing(such as Texas, Oklahoma State, and back then, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, etc). Then that expanded to other conferences, at least for the top teams. I was also doing a driving job at the time, and would listen to the "Sports Animal" on the radio for commentary(I prefer talk radio to music most of the time).

Eventually I became more interested in politics, and my sister divorced that brother-in-law. And none of my other family/friends give a shit about "sportsball".

The nice thing about sports though is that you can actually talk about it at work and no one really gets offended. You can't really do that with politics most of the time. So sports is nice if you're constantly interacted with a lot of random people. For example, when I worked for the railroad, it was all a bunch of blue-collar guys, and most at least followed football on some level(especially Texas vs Oklahoma, or Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma).

It's good to keep up roughly with sportsball over here just so you won't be completely out of touch in a social setting, I assume it's the same everywhere else.

From the normies perspective, it's the excitement of being able to see athletes perform at levels none of us could ever achieve. They have theoretically trained years to be able to perform feats of athleticism that surpass your amateur sports club by several orders of magnitude.
In reality however, it's used as a method of extracting vast amounts of wealth. Most athletes are on some sort of performance enhancing drugs, and most seasons are strategically fixed to ensure that certain teams win, but that there will be enough supposed excitement to get a lot of people to gamble away their money. This is to say nothing of the massive expenditures cities shell out to build infrastructure and promote teams. Real sportsmanship can only be found in friendly games between amateurs

Same, boring as shit. I'll play any sport for fun and I'm an active guy, and I can appreciate seeing a good shot or play, but watching a whole game for that is like a sack of mud with a quarter at the bottom.
Not all sports are boring to watch. Any sort of armed combat, dirt rally, demo derby, MXC/Takeshi's Castle obstacle course type shit, that's good viewing. Dont know why the fuck anyone would watch someone else play football, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf, or any other mainstream pro sport.
