It's not their fault. After WW2 and having millions of their own killed over a border skirmish with Poland and collapsing the British empire the Europeans needed a reason something that made it all worthwhile so they invented or rather greatly exaggerated the holocaust. They suddenly didn't just have a war for no reason but they in fact saved an entire race of people. Good vs evil biblical shit. After that they felt like heroes and the need to protect these people even further. For the first time in their history they pretended to not notice what Jews were doing and had always done because noticing it would mean that they had millions of their brothers killed for nothing. That was too much too bear, it would have ruined them so instead they were forced to double down. It's not their fault. It was corrupt leaders in debt to Jewish financiers who were afraid of Germany starting their own banking systems.
