The real question is why we give a shit about Europe at all. If we have imperial ambitions, Latin America and the Caribbean is where it’s at. We can easily withdraw from Europe and dominate the Pacific too. Even Russia is the goal, we’d have an easier time carving it up from the East than from the West.
