I'm a millennial and I can tell time on analogue but mine got smashed up at work and the new one I got was a digital which has the date so that helps me a lot because I never have any fucking idea what day it is or the date. What I noticed though is I can't predict time now. On my analogue I could be like "ok it's 2:46. What time will it be an hour and fifteen minutes from now?" And I could count along the 5 minute marks a long the circumference of the watch. I can't do that with a digital and it's been pretty annoying.

in Europe we use a 24 hour system. pm is simply shifted by 12 hours, cuz you go 2 times 12 and have to distinguish it via am and pm to know which is which.
using 24 instead of 12 removes that problem.

The parents didn't bother teaching them to read analog clocks. We taught our kids to read analog clock, I think they even did it in school. The same thing happens with the cursive. I didn't realize my son can't read gothic script either, so I gave him the reference. It's not really the worst thing about the new generation. They can't derive anything and think scientifically, it's not embedded in them. So something much more serious is broken than not reading analog clocks.

I'm not wrong. Even if your claim is indeed correct, you are an exception to the rule. Most kids my kids interacted with in school didn't strike me like they could approach things scientifically. Some were. My kids were taught by me, but it's not their natural instinct to do so. I don't remember when I was growing up having seen very many kids not having a grasp of scientific thinking. It sort of came naturally to most. It doesn't mean they were mostly smart, but they could understand reasoning. I had to train my kids to understand basic math proofs, which I don't remember being an issue at all. And they act like they are trained to do it, not something natural they would do.
