Capitalism doesn't magically end just because you give the state a monopoly on everything. To see this, imagine what would happen if Amazon "won" and monopolized everything then used their power to gain control of the military etc. The end result is identical. Giving the state control of all business and giving a monopolistic business control of the military etc are just two different ways of getting to the same outcome.

Sex was taboo historically precisely because unregulated sexual competition forces people to live like this. Under sexual liberalism the working man next to you is a bigger threat than the billionaire living far away in an ivory tower because the former is who you are competing against for sex. Attractiveness is relative. If you become more attractive then everyone else becomes less attractive because they are being compared to you. Consequently the competition never ends. Contrast this with food, where people will compete during times of scarcity, but you can eliminate the competition by eliminating the scarcity. You can't eliminate scarcity of attractiveness because it's comparative. There can only be one hottest guy in the room. All the people accumulating resources to make themselves more attractive (and mostly cancelling each other out) make life harder for the people who need those resources for actual use.
