They take up a whole page and have some nice foil or embossed logos, cool colors and weird script, maybe even a picture of your face you submitted with the application. Also it means it’s not a place you’re likely to find other Americans at. Bragging rights about visiting these places is more than worth the fees and trips to the consulate for me. One of the best places I ever visited in my life was Uzbekistan. Just god tier country, great food, hot ladies, heaps of history and walled cities but it took about a week to get a visa.
