I think about it everyday. Not that I might die someday, but that, inevitably, I WILL die someday.

I envy the dead. They have gotten over a hurdle I constantly think about and dread.

How do you cope with your mortality /pol/?

I'll never die. I'll live forever. It's my destiny. I am perpetual. I'm a core element of reality. Of existence. Without me to observe this reality, what would even be the point. This world would cease to exist because I am the observer and this world is for ME.

I think about death every day as well, I've been kind of obsessed. I'm not scared of it, I just find it absurd. I'd rather humans never became intelligent, it's a curse being able to contemplate death.

>Caesar, after he glanced at the decrepit figure of one of his guards, a soldier, exhausted and injured, who had met him in the street to ask leave to kill himself, answered jokingly: โ€œSo you think you are alive?โ€ If we reached that point all at once, I do not believe we could bear such changes. But Nature leads us by the hand, down a gentle, imperceptible slope, little by little, step by step, and tricks us into this miserable state and gets us used to it. Indeed, we are not shaken by the death of our youth which, in reality, is a harder death than the long death of a languishing life or than death from old age. In fact, the jump from being poorly to not being at all is not as hard as that from a flourishing and sweet existence to a tiresome and painful one.

Badly, honestly.
I very much hate the idea that I will not see the future that comes after me, be it bleak or bright.
But since no devils or alien get a clue and let me sell my 'soul' for immortality or some shit, I'll just observe what I get occasion to.

Accept it and understand this; Our time is finite. Use your time wisely to make the most out of your life and focus on what you can control. Be confident and take risks. Ask that super hot bitch out on a date. If she says no, so what? Do you think anyone will remember or care in a few decades? Nope! Leave no stone unturned, anon.

there IS a life after death and its far beyond what anybody could ever be prepared for
its not at all like just a big black out, consider for example that during a black out or sleep your brain activity is the comllete opposite of what happens in death, in sleep your brain hunkers down and preserves itself, reducing activity and consuming fewer resources, while in death every cell in your body activates a kill switch and suddenly you become subject to entropy, all your cells and built up chemical energies releasing energy into the environment
people who have had near death experiences say its like being filled with a blinding light full of love and all encompasing

I don't. It's completely tied to your beliefs and your beliefs come from your paradigm. In my paradigm there's continuity of identity after death, or rather the chance of it. I've worked towards this chance, so i don't need to cope with mortality because i see death as a transition and i've made sure i can preserve my identity afterwards.

Also, there's no point in arguing against my beliefs in here, just saving people some minutes of their lives.

It's not if you will die it's how you die that you should worry about more. And with that enjoy as much as life as possible and remember your mind is the most important thing. I'm 44 I worked shit job after shit job but I'm not burdened with a wife and kids to worry about. That's the shit people freak over about more.

I believe this to be a simulation of which our awareness is of a very limited scope of what reality is. To think that life ends at death is akin to a fish believing water is all there is. Once this mortal coil is shuffled off the perspective and awareness that binds my consciousness to this flawed plane of existence is released and I shall return to a more abstract form of reality where everything simply is. There, I will wait or process the experience until the next wave of reality claims me and I'm born into this world, or the next, again.

I believe we are possibly experiencing infinity. I am you and you are me. Its why all schools(masonic indoctrination center) teach the golden rule, to absolve them of their karma. They basically tell you what you do in life is what will happen on the other side. The people you hurt, the animals you eat. You will be them, because you are experiencing infinity. And so, you should try to make it a life where all living things can find happiness. To eat the caged animals, is to be the caged animals. To say mean things to another in an effort to hurt them, is to hurt yourself.

>With the world on their side in the conviction that being alive is all right, non-pessimists are not disposed to musing that human existence is a wholesale tragedy. They only argue the fine points of whatever it is about human existence that grabs their attention, which may include the tragic but not so much that they lose their commitment to the proposition that being alive is all right. And they can do this until the day they die, which is all right by them.
