>>511199177well that's certainly interesting
what's there?
>>511198899 (OP)Washington state reporting in everything is still retarded and gay no happening here
>>511199253I believe it's the newberry volcano
>>511198899 (OP)what is the difference between an explosion and the other seismic events
is that some kind of geography term or did some facility explode so bad it got picked up?
>>511199742I'm trying to figure that out myself. A 2.5 is a pretty big fucking explosion.
>>511199801https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/how-can-you-tell-difference-between-explosion-and-earthquake-seismogram
from the horses mouth
from a cursory search it doesn't seem to be a specific geography term
wtf is this?
>>511199801>>511199909Coords are 43.945ยฐN 120.987ยฐW
On Google it shows Hooker Creek Construction Materials and some pretty big pits
Industrial accident?
According the USGS website, when they say explosion, they mean explosion, not another word for an earthquake. Doesn't mean it's not some kind of natural event. They also list geo-thermal explosions. But I dunno.
>>511199909someone probably manually annotated it indicating it wasn't a geological event.
>>511199909it's something different, so it's worth noticing
>>511200000fucking checked
industrial accident seems likely
how big was the explosion?
>>511200122nothing on the news for oregon that seems related
if it was really that big it would have surely got an article?
>>511200000Hmmm. What are these reports from 1982?
>>511200000Second link says access denied.
>>511200000Checked
Think this site may just be where they have the instruments that measure seismic bullshit? Idk how it works, seems like it would be a place for people to blow shit up in the middle of nowhere. I wonder how much tannerite it would take to pull a 2.5
>>511198899 (OP)There is a structure there at the coords given by the USGS but I know its an approximation.
>>511200175that makes it even more interesting
what are they not telling us?
>>511200259https://www.hookercreek.net/
Someone should give them a call over at Hooker Creek Construction. Corporate number on their webpage.
>>511198899 (OP)There's a news article from 2 days ago about explosions out near there that they suspect were caused by tannerite or something similar.
https://www.centraloregondaily.com/archives/central-oregon-daily/dcso-confirms-location-cause-of-mystery-booms-felt-across-high-desert/article_2959f900-42bc-50d3-9732-cf58f5aea59a.html
>>511198899 (OP)Dealer, I put everything on "nothing happens".
>>511200389that's from feb of 2022
how much tannerite does it take to register a 2.5?
>>511200389That article is from 2022. This explosion happened 4 hours ago. Thanks, very interesting article though... seems connected.
Why is the nearby trailhead temporarily closed? What does that even mean?
>>511200389Looks like they have a small quarry out there. I would not be surprised if they were blasting rocks.
>>511200564I've seen tannerite explosions where a lot of the material didn't even detonate because the pile of binary explosive was too big basically. People get crazy with that stuff and fill 55 gallon steel drums though
43ยฐ56'43"N 121ยฐ01'09"W
Is this an airstrip? Just left of the quarries.
>>511200741A lot of parks closed due to budget cuts. Not enough park rangers and rescue teams around anymore.
>>511200564It said 2 days ago in the results
>>511200259The first link seems to be a nothingburger. Just a regulatory report of nuclear power plant exposure at a bunch of plants around the country. Nearest on the list I could find was in Salem but I'm pretty sure that one is decommissioned. I can't figure out why google gave me these links when I searched the coordinates though. They're not in the document.
>>511200741They'll close trails to fix up the paths after erosion or offriad vehicles fuck shit up to the point that they can't bring fire/rescue trucks through. Or install drinking water spigots for hikers, a public restroom, etc. Could be anything
>>511199553can confirm it's gay and only getting gayer but not in any way that's remotely surprising.
>>511200827looks like a place for model rc airplanes, the runway is only 685 ft which wouldn't really work for the majority of planes
>>511200389>https://www.centraloregondaily.com/archives/central-oregon-daily/dcso-confirms-location-cause-of-mystery-booms-felt-across-high-desert/article_2959f900-42bc-50d3-9732-cf58f5aea59a.htmlthe earthquake occured 1.5 miles deep though? Mining accident? Bomb test?
>>511200800I've seen a washing machine stuffed full of 40# of it blown up, it was not earthquake level but fun
>>511200875checking the date yourself should be natural, google sucks
>>511200827It's for RC aircraft lol
The thought of them being someway responsible
>>511200987wait a minute, it says -1.8km, that's in the fucking sky
what the fuck?
>>511201168USGS isnt always accurate theyre saying its at a depth of 1.8 km here so around 1 mile deep? So some underground lab accident lol or magma movements
>>511201168>wait a minute, it says -1.8km, that's in the fucking skyhol up hes right
none of the other events have it listed as a negative number
>>511199801>>511200564Small nuclear ground yet or larger nuclear air burst.
>>511201364Goddamn spelling, I meant itโs consistent with a small nuclear ground burst, or a larger nuclear air burst.
>>511201168>>511201342It was the fucking RC autismos
>>511201433yeah, I concur, also checked
>>511201210I could be wrong but I thought these USGS estimates are just that and not accurate for explosions so the data will be off so I wouldn't look too much into it.
It could be a meteor too
there is a double meteor shower going on
how big would that have to be to register as a 2.5?
>>511201342>>511201168>wait a minute, it says -1.8km, that's in the fucking sky>hol up hes rightDid Oregon just have their very own Tunguska Event?

>>511201963>>511201963500 kg meteor between 0.5-0.7 meters apparently
>used AI Couldโve been air burst
>>511202023Looked up local Facebook communities and nothing about air burst or meteor damage. Maybe itโs very far from any urban settlement

there ain't shit around there for a long ways
>>511202063I'm curious why there's no news of any sort about it

>>511202232Saw this on satellite images any idea what it could be? Red sand and some weird vehicle lots of it surrounds are
43.93091ยฐ N, 120.93730ยฐ W
>>511202274Far from any human settlements plus 2.5 lightly shakes paper on desk.
>>511202398I lived in southern california, I know how weak it is as an earthquake, but this was an explosion. That would cause a lot more sound than an earthquake of the same magnitude.
This might be it. Prepare to loot the nearest circle k. Everyone report it
>>511202504Yeah but itโs far from any permanent human settlements so we might not hear much from locals until someone goes there. Either itโs volcanic magma causing earthquakes or some govt shit.
>>511202743volcanic is usually a swarm of earthquakes in rapid succession, not a single explosion
>>511203226seems the glowniggers haven't been told how to spin this one yet
they're not sending their best
if this is a meteor, the peak of the shower isn't for another 5 or 6 days
it could be interesting
