>Sea buckthorn (Also known as seaberry) takes ~4 years from seed to begin to set fruit
>Can be propagated by softwood and hardwood cuttings, layering and suckers
>Only need 1 male for every 6 to 8 female plants
>Enormous yields of delicious and extremely healthy fruit that costs way too much to buy if you are in one of the few places where it is available in stores
>Berries actually contain fatty acids

We have coastal climate here, with warm nights due to all the warm water surrounding the islands. Think it's different from where you probably are. Besides, I'm no botanist, so don't really know much. Else I would have gladly helped. Here, you can grow pretty much anything during summer, honestly. It's even hot enough for palm trees. Only the winter kills it all off.

The key is to have a good variety of produce.
This is beneficial for a number of reasons...
Maybe you get a late frost that hurts the flowers of one of your plants but not the others. Maybe there's a drought during the middle of summer and you lose your grapes or something...
You have to hedge your bets as much as you can. Think of it like investing. You don't park all your money in one stock, right?

Im a National Socialist because its about using stoicism and mild collectivism to combat a much more intense and deadly collectivism. I have nothing wrong with libertarians besides I dont think they stand a chance when they are atomized, against the nigger swarms like we see in South Africa, and saw in Rhodesia. Not that it matters, as if anyone would ask me, but Id be glad to have a special libertarian zone within a much larger national socialist ethnostate. Think of it like a special economic zone, which some countries already use:

Yeah, continental climate is something else, kek. How are the nights there? I assume it gets rather chilly as well. The water stabilizes the temp here, so during days it's 20-25 C, and then it only drops to around 18 during night.

Sounds like here. Although it's not actually hotter, but feels like due to all the moisture in the air. Summer nights here are often insufferable. You can hardly breathe, and your bed just gets soaked in sweat. But sounds like you have it the same way, kek.

Most winters, the temp only goes below freezing a few times. Even in Feb, which is the coldest month, the avg. temp is above freezing - even most nights. Again because of the water. But depends on where you are. In the middle of Jutland, it freezes way more often than here on the islands.

You can get these like 20, 28, 32 watt grow frequency bulbs that are not anywhere near as hard as a ballasted like 400w, 600, 8 1200 watt setup etc. It should be enough to grow basic greens, I used several of them plus a self made tinfoil shroud using just tape to start pot plants. Id get them like 2 feet tall, they would be root bound and thats when I ideally plant them outside - because Id start them with snow on the ground.

Pot is almost the same as tomatoes, its a joke that you go to the gardening store and when they ask what are you growing, you say oh, tomatoes. The same advice is almost universal, some slight differences in fertilizer concentration for example. This was before it was legal, but yea kale is a great one Ive actually grown. Its the type of plant you just rip some leaves off the bottom, and it grows higher. Put them on your burger instead of lettuce or whatever, and remember the smaller leaves are less bitter - the bigger it grows, the more bitter it will be. At the same time I looked it up myself, and the bitterness is the actual vitamins and stuff you want. So if you can tolerate it, more bitter = better for you.

This 100%. It's so easy to grow plants once you know this. It's only slight adjustments from plant to plant, stuff like NPK values and drainage (type of medium), but besides that they just need some fucking water and some sun.

>Enormous yields of delicious and extremely healthy fruit

That`s one way to tell that you`ve never dealt with this plant.

It`s a bitch to harvest - berries cling tightly onto spiky, thorny branches. When ripe, berries burst if you so much as look at them wrong - the only way to harvest is to cut the branches WITH the berries. Underripe berries are easier to pick - but are more sour than a lemon.
Uncooked berries` taste ranges from extremely tart and astringent to mildly sweet-and-tart astringent.
Made in jam (its main use) this thing is a VERY acquired taste.

So much so that it is usually used as a vitamin boost for the and a remedy for a cold.

whats that rotting whale fin dish or something from the faroe islands
You're thinking of rรฆstur grind, a traditional Faroese dish made from fermented pilot whale meat and blubber. Itโ€™s part of the broader category of rรฆst foods, which are semi-dried and fermented using the natural cold and salty air of the Faroe Islands.

What Is Rรฆstur Grind?
Ingredients: Pilot whale meat and blubber

Preparation:

The meat and blubber are sliced into thin strips called likkjur and hung to dry.

Over time, they ferment naturally in open-air sheds called hjallar.

Flavor Profile: Strong, pungent, and deeply umamiโ€”definitely an acquired taste!

Serving: Often eaten cold with boiled potatoes and mustard, or as part of a kalt borรฐ (cold table) alongside other traditional dishes like dried fish and fermented lamb2.

Health & Controversy
Health Concerns: Pilot whale meat has been found to contain high levels of mercury and PCBs, leading to recommendations that it be consumed sparingly or avoided altogether3.

Cultural Significance: Despite health warnings and international criticism of whaling, the dish remains a cherished part of Faroese heritage and survival history.

Would you ever try something like that, or does the idea of fermented whale blubber send you running for a salad?

I'm growing edible Yuca, sweet potato, watermelon, Sunchoke, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, herbs, sugar cane and okra this year. I planted a shit ton of trees a couple years back. Since I'm on a residential plot, I had to space the trees carefully. I have 3 loquats, 2 kumquats, 2 guava, 4 figs, 3 persimmon, 2 columnar apple trees, 2 dwarf mulberry, 1 finger lime, 1 grapefruit, 1 mini wurtz avocado, 1 moringa, 4 orange trees of various cultivars and 1 Meyer lemon. I still have room for 7 more trees because all the trees I planted were dwarf varieties. I'm hoping to get some Gold Kist Apricots this year and 14 more garden beds. Then, I can take a breath. Next year, I'll get a chicken coop. Bawk, Bawk.
