It's especially funny to me when Moroccans claim Al-Andalus as if it were part of their history. When Moroccan participation in Al-Andalus was reduced to using Moroccan mercenaries as cannon fodder and using Moroccan sex slaves for those who weren't part of the elite, because they were cheaper than slaves from Christian kingdoms. And the only brief moments when Moroccan dynasties ruled Al-Andalus, like the Almohads or the Almoravids, generated nothing and were crushed by the Christians, facilitating the fall of Al-Andalus.
