the classic idea in globalism is that "we strive for the same thing" but in reality that is just not true and even at the level of nations or "people", many nations just prefer a top down hierarchical organization to having actual "freedoms" or would see "freedoms" as a sign of weakness to be exploited
if you really want open borders then there's no way to achieve that except with surveillance because you'd be inviting people that will actively seek to dismantle the freedoms of others in order to give themselves and their friends privilege
