Declining divorce rates
A recent study showed that divorce rates for marriages from the 2010s are lower than for any other decade since the 1950s. What could explain this? An economy going down the drain making single life more difficult? Societal decline making women realize they aren't as strong and indepenent as they once thought? The general decline in marriages meaning only the more stable ones remain? Or the decline in births (children being often described as a major stress factor)? And most importantly, will this convince you to marry anons?

its almost like living together for a few years before being legally married to someone works out the kinks first and only surviving couples go on to get married, christcucks btfo. Try it before you buy it

It’s an illusion, people get married less which should be the headline.

This is a percentage number not a total numbers graph you moron.
It seems more of the right people are the only ones getting married.

Probably because of selection bias since less people are marrying in general

Diminishing stigma against unmarried cohabitation / perpetual singlehood means less people getting into bad marriages out of peer pressure. Also declining economic prospects means that marriage is increasingly the purview of the upper classes who prioritize stability more

>What could explain this?
Divorcing is no longer economically feasible. I know several couples who stayed together basically because they share the property and living alone is too expensive.

>first marriage
>cumulative
>by year of marriage
Worthless statistic. Of course the percentage of divorces is higher the longer the marriage.

It's partly that and partly those people getting married in an American Pie living America and now so the singles have weird pronouns and want to get pegged and talk about how White people like them are evil. Who would want to get back into that dating market?

You see the x axis right? And the different lines falling differently on identical x values?

Fewer people are getting married in the first place, since it isn't nearly as much of a societal expectation as it was before. Therefore, people who get married are more likely to actually want to be married rather than settling for a shitty marriage out of convenience.

Doesn't change the fact that marriage is a fucking scam for men in the 21st century.

Hence less people are getting married, most marriages are from cultures that still value it which is why they last longer,

Also 2010s ends in 2020. It's only been 5 years since the 2010s ended. This is guesswork.

Hans exactly what he was saying.
Less people getting married means only really commited to marriage are getting married.
And its still fucking 40%

And started in 2010, meaning 15 years of marriage. If you check the graph, after 15 years of marriage 30% were already divorced in previous decades. These kinds of things can be corrected for, it's unreasonable to assume divorce rates will drastically change in a year or two, unless you have an explanation as for why marriages from the late 2010s are less stable than those from the early 2010s?

That would be the 90s and 2000s kids, which are just as high. 2010s are Gen X kids
