We already do that and have been doing that since forever. One such condition is that it must be able to survive when people are free to speak their minds. If your cause doesn't satisfy this condition then I can rule it out.

From my perspective there are no private landlords in most western countries. Tenants pay rent to a "landlord", the "landlord" pays rent to the state in the form of property taxes etc, the state doesn't pay rent to anyone so it is the true owner. What you call a "landlord" is basically just a manager for the state's property. They "own" the land on paper, but this is just a LARP. The state is the real owner and letting the "landlords" LARP as owners is just part of how they reward their underlings. Maybe you think this system is dumb. I think it's dumb, but 99% of the time leftists discuss this shit they don't even make it this far. They just think in dumb landlord = private = enemy, government = public = friend terms and expect the state (ie the real owner) to protect them from their own middle managers.
