I've never thought I'd get to this point, but between Christians in America justifying mass murder of innocents over seas and unhinged bible verses that I've been reading, it feels like being lied too.
One example being 2 bears mauling a group of children for mocking Elijah for being bald. Sure, if it's God's will, then who is anyone to question. But to a normal human, does that not seem excessive to anyone else? They called him bald and laughed, then we're deserving of a painful death? Then you look online for clarification where other Christians are arguing about "context".

Another verse in the bible is about Israelites shouting and singing about smashing babies' heads on rocks.
This stuff doesn't disturb anyone else?

If only someone had warned us wavering Christians that it wasn't going to be easy. Seems like everyone is 2 vs 3 and we feel outnumbered even in our own homes. You know what OP? Deep in my soul, and not to meme on the internet - I say fuck those kids that mocked Elijah.

And on a side note, haven't you ever lived in a poor area? Kids that just run wild can be an actual menace. It's not because they are evil or whatever, sometimes they'll antagonize adults because they're neglected by their own parent and they are starved for attention. Speaking from experience here.

Also here's a search of the word "tare" in the OT. Just that one match in 2 Samuel 13:31. So we can be pretty sure it just means tear/tore and not killed. (as there is plenty of killing in the bible).

That was Elisha. A few things to consider:

. It was ultimately the fathers' fault for raising their children like animals.

. God did not command Elisha to do this. That was his decision, but God honored the curse in order to assert Elisha's authority with God before the people who had ceased to fear Him.

No. The church fathers clearly state that children can be damned. Based on these children's behavior they were likely already of a reprobate mind and would have grown up to be rapists, bandits, and thieves. God simply got rid of them as biological and spiritual waste by allowing them in their presumption to challenge his holy prophet.

A few things to consider:

. Jews fetishize the suffering of children

. God did not command jews to write this book. That was their father, the devil, whom they have ALWAYS and CONTINUE TO sacrifice children to.

. God declares jews evil so anyone who takes the OT at face value is going to hell.

Children declared innocent by God.

Children going to a place of rest upon death.

“But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” (2 Samuel 12:23)

God's clear admonition not to mess with them.

“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.” (Mark 9:42)
