As it turned out, they simply gave away their own soldiers, passing them off as dead Ukrainians - they did something similar with the Wagner PMC mercenaries during the battles for Bakhmut, passing off mountains of mercenary corpses as Ukrainian soldiers.
I understand that for some reason you think that Russians think the same way as you, the same way as a white person (if you are white, of course)
In fact, they are barbarians with white (and that's not exactly true) skin color. I'm not surprised why the Ukrainians call them orcs because of their tactics and military behavior.
Russians always do something similar, you just have to watch their hands, it's like playing cards with a cheater, if you're not careful you'll be easily fooled.
