Do you think our parents feel any shame over the shit lot in life they gave us? My parents seem happy almost proud when something bad happens to me like when my car has a problem and lose a month salary to fix it. I mean why did they bother? All the money wasted in raising me for this?

depending on how old you are, they either should or should not feel bad. i couldn't blame anyone for not knowing how quickly things would go to hell in the early aughts, but if you were born after 9/11 basically they should have known that there would be a good chance that you'd be set up for failure unless there were nepotism possibilities

Don’t take it personal but you probably had helicopter parents. They may have cosigned you or charged rent or something to get you stuck. A lot of narcissistic parents hang onto their kid with a finance leash out of “respect” or “you owe me”. So now you are double locked at home and they consider you a pushover so they communicate to you like you’r scum or a b social person. So they treat you like shit so they are receiving credit socially, personally, and financially. They might even set up things like abuse or other people to screw you over just to keep the leash on.
If you started messing with drugs or alcohol then they have you pretty much pinned.
Get any job, don’t take it so edgy and form enough money to put toward some sort of forward progress like a car, new place, and either college or a trade.

Don't feel bad. I was addicted to heroin since I was 15 and now I've been living in a sober living house for the past year at the age of 35. I work a fast food job just to pay rent to live in a house with 7 other addicts who are mostly exconvicts and one of them is a convicted murderer.
