Tyrants always target those who grow food because if they control who can eat and who cannot, they control who lives and who dies.

Grow your own food, Anon. The more people who do it, the harder it is to fuck with the populace.

It is just as important to your freedom as owning guns.

Land is a completely Halal investment that appreciates in value, it is not a form of speculation or usury.

Islam respects the right to private property, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) purchased land himself to build a mosque.

It is also Halal to defend your property from intrusion and to defend yourself in general. A lot of people here in rural America have gardens and guns, many live on rural plots and work normal jobs and are not all farmers.

Here are my blueberries. I put them in oatmeal, super tasty.

Perennial plants are the lowest effort thing to grow. You plant them once and then it's just basic maintenance, unlike annuals where you have to do the same shit every year.
You plant one little raspberry in your yard and before you know it you have a living hedge that produces delicious fruit.

Perennials and high yield low maintenance crops are the way to go. People who try to recreate an entire grocery store in their yards are retards wasting their time.
Also: land and food production is the best investment you can make in the wake of the collapse of the debt fueled perpetual growth system. That's why all the wealthy billionaires are doing it, buying farm land, water rights, etc. They're hedging against the collapse by investing in basic necessities. It's always a good move to make the same bet as the people in the know.

I see people who grow literally the same cultivars of things that the store sells... Why limit yourself to that crap?
Tomatoes can be bred to sit on store shelves for months or they can be bred to taste fucking amazing and be full of nutrients. I know which ones I want.

Agreed, even berries you won't find in the store too like mulberries or serviceberries. You're making the right move anon, the debt bubble has maybe 10 years left, 15 if we're lucky. Then it's all downhill from there. Just be careful not to advertise your food production too much, raiders and governments seizures are two likely scenarios in the near future. It's one of the upside of perennials, it looks like a natural landscape instead of a farm and doesn't draw attention.

I'm in roughly the same boat anon I get it. What I've been doing is making a list of like minded individuals in my circle of acquaintances, people who grow food, hunt, fish, etc. and other useful professionals like construction people, you know, the type who participated in the trucker protest, and basically those are the only people I keep in the know. Everybody else, all the people who support the government and the system, are all "agents of the matrix", they will betray us the minute things go bad so I cross these people off and don't talk to them. I don't want these future enemy to know what I'm up too. Choose your people wisely I guess is what I'm getting at.

This is more of a problem for industrial monoculture because it attacks the entire culture at once. Won't really be a problem for perennial cultures and diversified gardens because only a portion gets affected, not everything, because diseases and bugs are usually crop specific.

On point, Gavin Newsom caused an extreme drought for California's farmlands because he's a totalitarian prick. Without those crops, grocery prices have inflated even higher. He knows exactly what he's doing for his corporate donors, and the environmental impact is horrific.
