I was in Instanbul for a few days on a layover.
Went to the city on a tour both times.
I would say maybe 30% of people would pass as white.
Most clearly do not.
And I'm not using some Nordicist standard of whiteness.
I mean they look distinctively non-European,
like they would better fit in India than in Europe
or the United States.

Turks were never part of Christendom and geographically were never part of Europe. the few Turks with e,g blue eyes have them because the Ottoman empire kidnapped people from Europe as slaves. I've nothing agsint Turkey these days but they don't belong in the EU and are certainly not European. I found the redesignation of the Orthadox Christan Church the Hagia Sophia as a 'mosque' revolting. I do find Turskish people in general crude, jingoistsic and that they generally fail to integrate and wind up ghettosied. They have come a long was in the last 100 uyears but they are not even close to Europeans in terms of public morality, honesty, fairness, decency, kindness and honour. Whiteness depends on region. Richer parts are always white. Shithole parts have arab immigrants. You'll know if a person is white or not in person.

Literally 0 I mean 0 kid from rich parts and 99% of kids from poor parts gives a shit about religion and hates Erdogan for what he has done. Also before you blame Turks for voting Erdogan for billion time remember Trump, remember 9/11.
