People use the materials to make building supplies, they get money for that
People put the building supplies together and make houses or other things that improve the life quality for everyone and they get money for that.

If all the money those people make is going towards their own things, like owning a house, then more houses get built, and more people are building wealth. The wealth of the nation steadily increases as more and more people have higher living conditions.

It doesn't. Labor is trading time for money, which means it's inherently not scaleable for most kinds of labor - think working on a conveyor belt: you only have 24 hours a day and even if you work every shift you can get, you barely create much wealth that way.
