What Owens did was report on what journalists in France reported on. Since Macron is a public figure her burden of proof in a defamation case requires a showing of “actual malice.” Meaning, Owens knew what she was saying was false but said it anyway for the sole intention of damaging reputation. It’s a standard created by scotus to insulate journalists from defamation suits (which is retarded but that is an entirely different conversation). It makes it extremely difficult for public figures to recover for defamation. Macron could take a DNA test and publish it for all the world to see disproving the claims. That doesn’t mean Macron will recover. If anything it will be extremely difficult Macron to prove actual malice. Macron sued two women in France for making the same claims and both suits were tossed and France’s highest court upheld the tossings. You have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about and Macron’s lawyer knows it will be an uphill battle despite his puffery.
