Ireland should have force an irish language revival by mandating that all government services be done through english upon getting independence. It's cucked speaking the language of your enemy.

Irish culture is built upon seething. If you go to Dublin they will talk about the english oppression constantly.

But resentment of English rule is relatively new. for most of those 700 years the Irish were fighting other Irish to have the right to rule their island in the name of the English king. It was only in the late 1800s that they really started to hate them. Honestly the independence war is the least interesting bit of irish history, and it shouldn't be as prevalent in their culture as it is.
